On Tuesday morning, polling places got off to a rocky start after reported errors became common at multiple locations.

ABC13 received numerous calls and messages from viewers in the county reporting that they weren’t able to vote. Shortly before 9:15 a.m., a precinct judge at a Missouri City polling place said the issue had been resolved and people were able to begin voting.

SkyEye was over the area in Sugar Land, where people were outside City Hall and Smart Financial Centre.

Still, outside of the event center, Fort Bend County Judge KP George said that for at least one hour there was an error in their program, delaying voting.

On the first day of early voting, widespread technical difficulties in Fort Bend County meant that no votes could be cast when polls opened at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Hundreds of would-be voters were queued up in massive lines at polling places across the county, many of whom gave up and went home after waiting for an hour or longer.

In an impromptu press conference posted live to Facebook, Fort Bend County Judge KP George acknowledged the “technical glitches” with the county’s voting system Tuesday morning, and said that “half our machines are back online” as of 8:47 a.m.

Fort Bend County Judge KP George said he supports a full investigation into what went wrong with early voting's kickoff Tuesday.

CRA Website Error Puts CRB Applications on Hold

October 12, 2020 | website | No Comments

It seems like the Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) Thanksgiving surprise was not that good. Canadians are flocking on to Twitter and other social media sites to discuss the error message on the CRA website. Today, the CRA opened the application window for the Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB). Millions of Canadians logged in only to be disappointed with a message.

The message read, “You cannot apply for the Canada Recovery Benefit as you have applied for all eligible periods. The next periods become available every second Monday.”

And today being Thanksgiving, the CRA contact centre is closed. So, I guess you will have to wait until Tuesday to apply for the CRB.

The CRA had less than a month to transition millions of Canadians from the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) to CRB. Also, it had to implement new sickness and caregiving benefits. To

A “database extract error” resulted in an incorrect inflation of the number of reported COVID-19 cases in Missouri going back over several days, Missouri health officials said Sunday.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services said in a news release that it is in the process of migrating all COVID-19 testing and case data into one new consolidated system.

The state launched a new version of its coronavirus dashboard on Sept. 28 to integrate pandemic response across public health, economic, employment and social impact indicators.

Missouri incorrectly reported Saturday on its coronavirus website more than 5,000 new COVID-19 cases, more than double the previous single-day record.

The agency said Sunday it is working urgently to resolve the issue and will update its website with the correct numbers once that is done. It said the problems with the data were limited to cumulative reporting on its Show

The update follows an embarrassing incident last month when the agency removed a draft that had not gone through proper review and was posted in error. The draft’s wording included a reference to aerosols — tiny droplets that can stay in the air, potentially traveling a significant distance. Officials said the draft was removed because they feared the language could be misinterpreted as suggesting that airborne transmission is the main way the virus spreads.

That is not the case. The main drivers of viral spread are larger respiratory droplets that are emitted when someone coughs, sneezes, sings, talks, or breathes, the CDC said.

“There is evidence that under certain conditions, people with COVID-19 seem to have infected others who were more than six feet away,” the updated Web page states. “These transmissions occurred within enclosed spaces that had inadequate ventilation. Sometimes the infected person was breathing heavily, for example while
