Here’s what to look for:

  • Different 5G options. Apple is one of the last major phone makers to offer 5G phones, after launches from Samsung, Google Pixel and others. Some other makers offer lower-price models that don’t support the fastest “millimeter wave” (also known as “ultra wideband”) 5G technology.
  • An array of sizes. The iPhone has, generally, gotten larger over the years. The iPhone 12 comes in a new smaller “Mini” version that’s easier to hold and stuff into jeans.
  • More cameras. The iPhone’s Pro line adds a fourth sensor on the back that measures distance, similar to the LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) scanner Apple built into its latest iPad Pro. It could be useful for augmented reality applications, and possibly new camera tricks.
  • Apple stopped including headphones and charging plugs with its new phones, following a similar move with its latest Apple Watch. Will consumers see that move

If Wall Street had a seat belt sign, now’s when the captain would tell us to buckle up for possible turbulence ahead.

Even if earnings season didn’t begin tomorrow, there’s plenty to keep investors on their toes. Amazon’s (AMZN) Prime Day, Apple’s (AAPL) long-awaited product event, continued stimulus negotiations in Washington, and mounting virus cases in the U.S. and Europe all get mixed into the recipe.

Ordinarily, those ingredients would be enough for anyone, but this time it’s happening while investors and the entire world have one eye on polls three weeks ahead of the U.S. presidential election. Despite all this, volatility is the lowest since late

Apple has quietly removed the “Beats by Dre” webpage from its website ahead of its Apple event on Tuesday, as it prepares to launch a new, lower-cost HomePod and AirPods Studio headphones.

As noted by Apple Terminal, the landing page for Beats products can no longer be found on Apple’s website. The Wayback Machine has a snapshot of the page in its original form from October 2, while the most recent snapshot from October 9 shows the page as down, suggesting Apple removed it sometime between these two dates.

Over the last couple of weeks, MacRumors has independently observed a gradual removal of all links to Beats’ support website from Apple’s own support pages. Apple also quietly retired its Beats Updater utility that lets users update the firmware of their Beats Wireless headphones, earphones, and speakers.

Apple still sells Beats-branded products on the headphones and speakers section of its

Apple may use Tuesday’s “Hi, Speed” event to tell potential buyers of the new iPad Air when they can purchase the tablet, weeks after the company launched the model during its “Time Flies” event.

During the first “Time Flies” special event on September 15, Apple introduced a redesigned iPad Air, but aside from telling customers it would be available sometime in October, an exact date wasn’t offered during the presentation. With the second Apple event looming, it is suggested Apple may advise of when the tablet will actually go on sale.

According to serial leaker Jon Prosser on Twitter, Apple “will give you the launch date of iPad Air during the October 13th event.” Given the lack of date from Apple itself for its release, it seems plausible a public event will include an update on shipment dates.
