Virginia’s voter registration website went down on Tuesday, the final day for people in the state to register ahead of Election Day. As of early Tuesday afternoon, the website was still not working.

“Due to a network outage, the Citizen Portal is temporarily unavailable,” the Virginia Department of Elections wrote on its site Tuesday morning.

Officials said on Twitter that a “fiber cut” in Chester, near the Commonwealth Enterprise Solutions Center, impacted connectivity for multiple state agencies. The cut cable, which appeared to be an accident, affected both the voting portal and the registrar’s offices.

“We are working with our network providers to restore service as quickly as possible,” the department said. “Please check back later for your online voter registration or absentee needs.”

Multiple Virginia agencies were affected.

In a statement, the Virginia Department of Elections said the fiber cut happened near a data center operated by the Virginia Information Technology Agency off Route 10 in Chester, Virginia, south of Richmond.

The statement said technicians are “on site and working to repair the cut.”

The cut fiber was “impacting data circuits” and connectivity for the department’s online citizens portal, which allows voters to register online, as well as local registrars’ offices across Virginia.

World Trade Organization members selected two final candidates — Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and South Korea’s Yoo Myung-hee — to advance to the final round in the race to lead the Geneva-based trade body, according to people familiar with the matter.

By advancing two women to the final round of the selection process, the WTO will likely have the first female director general in its 25-year history.

Square Enix will launch a teaser website for Final Fantasy XVI in late October with information on the game’s world and characters, producer Naoki Yoshida said during the “Yoshi-P Sanpo” program at Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online.

Yoshida also commented on the game’s announcement trailer. He said, “I didn’t want the trailer to be just a rendered cutscene and bam! logo!… I wanted to use resources that were moving in-game, in real-time, but the timing wasn’t the best for it. We haven’t tuned it or optimized it yet, so it was a lot of work to be done. But if we released a pre-rendered trailer, they would say, ‘Alright, see you in 2035!’ or something. I’ve seen those kind of comments from America. So we really wanted to show something that was actually in-game. We haven’t shown the highlights of the game in this trailer, so that will come later
