A few days ago, Sony revealed that 99 percent of PS4 games will be compatible with the PS5 and that there are very few titles you can’t play on the upcoming console. Now, the list of 10 just got shorter. NACON and KT Racing told Push Square that they’re developing a patch that would make TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2 PS5-compatible. A NACON rep told the publication that the developers are working to make the motorbike racing game 100 percent functional on the new console, though it’s unclear if they’ll be able to roll out the update by the time the PS5 comes out on November 12th.

The wait is over–Amazon Prime Day 2020 is officially live, but you don’t have to be a Prime subscriber or even shop at Amazon to get amazing deals today. That’s because this has effectively become a precursor to Black Friday, and competing retailers are getting in on the action with steep discounts on games and tech this week. Best Buy is one of those retailers running a big anti-Prime Day sale of its own, and it made the biggest move we’ve ever seen to compete with Amazon by announcing its first Black Friday deals will go live this week.

Select deals from Best Buy’s Black Friday ad have gone live today, and they feature fantastic discounts on laptops, tablets, and 4K smart TVs along with Arcade1Up cabinets. Notably, you can buy a Samsung 70-inch 4K smart TV for $530, down from its usual $750–just in time for next-gen gaming. There’s

The PS5 launches around the world next month, and while there are still many lingering questions about how the system works, Sony has now shared some more details about its backwards compatibility. As with Xbox Series X, it appears a few previous-gen games will be improved when played on PS5 thanks to Game Boost, a feature that gives some PlayStation 4 games a performance boost on the newer console.

As detailed on the PlayStation support website, Game Boost allows certain PS4 titles to “run with a higher or smoother frame rate” when played on a PS5. However, Sony notes that this will only apply to “select” games; it appears the performance boost won’t be applied across the board, as Xbox Series X does with Xbox One games.

The company shed a bit more light on how the feature will work in a PlayStation Blog post. “Some titles with unlocked frame

SINGAPORE — Video games are booming in China’s smaller cities, with citizens there accounting for more than half of revenue nationally, according to a recent report by Niko Partners.

“76% of gamers in China live in Tier 3-5 cities, accounting for 70% of game revenue,” Niko Partners said in a synopsis of its China Gamers Report.

Cities in China are classified by tiers based loosely on population and economic size. For example, places such as capital Beijing and Shenzhen are generally considered tier-one cities, while lower-tier cities are smaller.

The country is the world’s top game market and will generate an estimated $40.85 billion in revenue this year, according

A trial date has been set for Epic Games vs. Apple following an extended and public disagreement over the latter company’s alleged monopolization of iOS digital marketplaces. Epic Games initially filed suit immediately after Fortnite was removed from the App Store for violating its payment rules.

The case will be held as a bench trial, meaning there will be no jury, and begins on May 3, 2021. Because of the ongoing pandemic, the court has not yet decided whether the trial will be held in-person or virtually. The decision to use a bench trial was also influenced by the pandemic, as a backlog of jury trial cases would have pushed it into next summer.

Epic Games has argued that by not allowing outside companies to run their own digital stores on iOS devices, Apple has effectively created a monopoly. It takes a sizeable portion of every digital profit on the

Yesterday morning, I woke up to videos of Assassin’s Creed: Unity. I have to be honest, I haven’t thought much about that game in a few years: the Ps4/Xbox One launch title was pretty and ambitious, but also loaded with bugs, bloated with features and ultimately a major black eye for what was then a yearly franchise. It’s been largely forgotten as the series reinvented itself with Origins, which is why I was surprised to see this Digital Foundry video running the game at a smooth 60 FPS, many of those launch bugs long-since patched. And I’m going to be honest: I kind of want to play it.

And while I’m a whole lot less likely to play Blinx The Timesweeper, a 2002 title for the original Xbox, I can’t say that my interest wasn’t piqued by Geoff Keighley booting the thing

It was only five years ago that Epic Games’ Josh Adam and Bill Bramer were onstage at Apple’s WWDC demoing Fortnite and talking about how incredible the iOS platform is for developers. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you know where this is going.

The legal and public relations battle that Epic launched against Apple for delisting its app from their stores demonstrates a clear rebellion against the power of the platform that it once headlined.

Epic Games isn’t David fighting Goliath. Sure, it’s fiscally insignificant compared to Apple: revenue of $4.2 billion in 2019 versus Apple’s $260.2 billion. But we’re still talking billions, and it will have an impact far beyond these two companies.

In the beginning, Epic looked like it was taking a stand against injustice and representing all gaming companies who suffer that 30% cut in revenue on all in-app transactions. But the longer this goes
