Is Major Cineplex Group A Good Stock To Buy?

October 11, 2020 | technology | No Comments

Major Cineplex Group PCL (OTC:MCGRF) is a leading cinema operator in Thailand with 815 screens in Thailand and neighboring countries. It has a considerable contribution to the growth of Thai box office. The company has a strong growth and upside potential, according to a thesis by AsianCenturyStocks.

Assuming a full recovery in cinema attendance by 2022, the stock will trade at a 2023e PE ratio of 10.3x, offering upside of +85% if the stock were to trade at its historical average PE ratio of 19x. This multiple is well justified given the long runway of growth, limited debt, excellent management team and high return on capital, according to the thesis.

Twitter on Friday announced changes that it hopes will limit the spread of disinformation surrounding the 2020 election, even if the bullshit is coming from inside the White House.

The tweaks are among the most aggressive by a major social media platform to muffle election-related misinformation to date. But with the future of American democracy hanging on a Donald Trump tweetstorm and mere weeks until Election Day, we’re all just going to have to cross our fingers that this does anything at all.

The first change to Twitter’s platform includes adding warning “prompts” to tweets with “misleading information” when users try to retweet them; users will also be encouraged to quote tweet—i.e., add their own commentary to a “disputed” tweet—rather than simply retweet the misleading information without additional context. Twitter won’t stop you from simply retweeting misinformation, but it hopes

It looks increasingly likely that Google will soon roll out a built-in screen recorder and improved screenshot feature for millions of Chromebooks.

Last month Chrome Story spotted a reference to a built-in screen recorder feature for Chrome OS that popped up in the Chromium Gerrit. Today, Chrome Unboxed found a partially functional version of the feature in the Canary channel of Chrome OS, which is a development channel where new, not widely tested (and possibly buggy or unfinished), Chrome OS features can be trailed.

The new capture mode adds an icon to the Chrome OS taskbar, which gives users options to screen record or screen capture. In a video, Chrome Unboxed showed off how exactly the new features work, including options to take movable screenshots and resize them. Users can also capture a specific window.

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 12 lineup is likely to see major performance and efficiency improvements thanks to the A14 Bionic Processor.

Our first glimpse at the A14 comes from the just announced iPad Air 4, which is the first device to sport the next-generation Apple-designed processor. The 64-bit desktop-class A14 Bionic chip sees a considerable leap in performance and efficiency, according to Apple.

Early benchmarks suggest that the A14 is a 6-core chip with a base frequency of 2.99GHz and 3.66GB of memory, achieving a score of 1,583 in single-core and 4,198 for multi-core.

This is markedly higher than the 1,336 in single-core and 3,569 in multi-core for the A13 Bionic from 2019’s iPhone 11 lineup. Roughly compared, that means the iPhone 12 will be 18.4% faster in single-core performance and 17.6% faster than the current top-of-the-line iPhone. Here are speed comparisons of the upcoming iPhone 12 processor with other recent

Since Mark Cerny’s “Road to PS5” briefing during GDC earlier this year, Sony has marketed its own proprietary audio innovations that will be included with the PlayStation 5. It’s broken down into two separate audio modes that work with either a headset or your TVs speaker, but only one will be ready for launch next month.

In a new blog post, Sony details some of the compatibility features of its new Tempest 3D Audio engine, which will be able to turn any headset into 3D Audio capable cans with games that support it. Sony mentions that its Pulse 3D wireless headset is one of the best ways to experience this on PS5, but stresses that all other headsets connected either via USB or the 3.5mm jack on the DualSense controller will be supported too.

Games will need to support 3D audio too, with Sony listing exclusives such as Spider-Man: Miles

With a raft of established investors turning to bitcoin this year as a potential hedge against the inflation they see coming as a result of unprecedented government spending and money-printing, a prominent investor in electric car-maker Tesla
TSLA
has said it expects bitcoin’s total value to balloon to between $1 trillion and $5 trillion during the next five to ten years.
