Amazon has officially canceled Crucible, its free-to-play multiplayer shooter. It’s the end of a rocky journey for the game, which was first launched in May after years in development before being put back into closed beta in July.

“We very much appreciate the way that our fans have rallied around our efforts, and we’ve loved seeing your responses to the changes we’ve made over the last few months, but ultimately we didn’t see a healthy, sustainable future ahead [for] Crucible,” the Crucible team said in a blog post.

If you’re in the closed beta, you’ll still be able to play the game in some form for a short while. The developers will be hosting a “a final playtest and community celebration” in the next few weeks, according to the blog. As Siliconera reports, the Japanese arcade industry’s magazine summed up reasons why the physical event is being canned:

It is hard to think that the novel coronavirus will subside by February 2021, and it is also extremely unclear whether an

Among Us 2 Canceled, But For A Good Reason

September 30, 2020 | technology | No Comments

Developer Innersloth has decided to cancel Among Us 2 and instead focus on expanding the content offered in Among Us. In a blog post, the developer wrote that the decision was made in response to the recent spike in popularity for the party survival game, which has been downloaded over 41 million times in just September alone.

“All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1,” Innersloth writes. “This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it. We have lots of things planned and we’re excited to bring new content to everyone as you continue to enjoy playing.”

These content expansions include new servers, colorblind support, a friends/account system, and a new stage, though Innersloth added that there are “lots of other things planned too,
