In 1998, speaking at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, President Bill Clinton said, “Today, affluent schools are almost three times as likely to have Internet access in the classroom; white students are more than twice as likely as black students to have computers in their homes. We can extend opportunity to all Americans or leave many behind. We can erase lines of inequity or etch them indelibly.”

Nothing has changed about their responsibilities. However, everything has changed around the assumptions of what mindset and skills will be needed.

The Harvard Business Review reports that the CHRO now has the opportunity to expand responsibilities and shape the future of their organization. CHROs and other executives are acknowledging the need to reskill and hire professionals in HR who are aligned with the new reality of a dynamic and fluid workforce. Its virtual RevolveU conference is the latest example of the company’s marketing pivot, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Revolve’s influencer-filled, made-for-Instagram events, which span from tropical vacations to full-blown music festivals, are not only central to its business — it’s one of the things the retailer, known for glitzy party dresses, colorful swimwear and other #OOTD-friendly wares, has become synonymous with.

The company had big plans for 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic led to global lockdowns and stay-at-home orders. “We actually felt like this year, of all the years, was the most organized we’ve ever been,” Raissa Gerona, Revolve’s Chief Brand Officer, says, on a Zoom call in September, thinking back to the beginning of the year. On the docket was Revolve Festival during Coachella, a Revolve Around the World trip to Cannes for the French Grand Prix in June, Revolve Summer in July, the inaugural Revolve U in

Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is getting a digital makeover, after the federal government announced on Friday it would invest AU$12 million over four years to make it happen.

As part of the revamp, TGA’s business systems and infrastructure will be digitised and cybersecurity measures will be bolstered.

Specifically, it will enable medical companies to use automatic data transfer to deliver drug reaction reports on patient safety from their own internal databases into the TGA Adverse Events Management System (AEMS) database, saving up to 15 minutes per report. This will be a change to the current process that requires reports that are submitted in PDF format, as well as other formats, to be manually entered into the database.

“The internet is now busted, and to be perfectly frank, it’s totally unclear how we can fix it. We can’t make it better,” said Huston, now chief scientist with the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC).

“I’m sorry, I’m really sorry,” he said.

“I actually want to apologise for my small part in this mess we find ourselves in, because it all turned out so horrendously badly.”

Huston is well-known in Australian internet technical circles for his cheerfully pessimistic presentations.

He has, for example, called the
