If you haven’t yet subscribed to any of the major streaming services, first I have to ask: How have you avoided them? Second: You’ve missed the boat when it comes to trying the biggest names for free.

Streaming giant Netflix quietly did away with its 30-day trial in the U.S., according to CNET, just like Disney+, which stopped offering free trials back in June. The U.S. is not the only market where Netflix has decided to end its free trial. The company ended trial periods in Mexico and several other countries as far back as two years ago.

Netflix has ended free trials for new customers in the US, after years of giving away the first month of its service free. The streaming service’s US sign-up page said trials are no longer available, with Netflix instead touting how it lets you cancel anytime at not cost.

“We’re looking at different marketing promotions in the United States to attract new members and give them a great Netflix experience,” a Netflix spokeswoman said Tuesday. The end of free trials in the US was reported earlier Tuesday by TV Answer Man.

Netflix, the world’s biggest subscription video service with more than 192 million paying members, was increasingly an outlier among its rivals by offering a month-long free trial. As a raft

The Adam Sandler Movie is basically a subgenre unto itself at this point, and you know exactly what you’re going to get. The actor and his usual roster of supporting players will all come together and have a great time in a glossy mid-budget studio comedy that focuses on easy targets and wacky characters, one that certainly looks like it’s a lot of fun to shoot, but that enthusiasm and camaraderie don’t always translate to the screen.

Despite repeatedly churning out different spins on the same content over and over again for a very long time now, Sandler doesn’t really tend to do sequels, with the notable exception of his voice role in the Hotel Transylvania franchise. In fact, before Murder Mystery 2 was officially announced late last year, Grown Ups is the only one of his star vehicles that’s ever been granted a follow-up.

Here’s something unusual: A company is going to notify members who are paying for its service – and who haven’t used the service in some time – that they will be dropped from the service.

The company: Netflix, the movie-streaming service. “At Netflix, the last thing we want is people paying for something they’re not using,” a company spokesman recently announced.

So if you are an inactive user – or non-user in this case – you can look for an email from the company if you haven’t used the service in the past year.

“So we’re asking everyone who has not watched anything on Netflix for a year since they joined to confirm they want to keep their membership,” said Eddy Wu, the company’s product innovation director. “And we’ll do the same for anyone who has stopped watching for more than two years.”

When the government announced a countrywide lockdown in March, the online gaming industry was one of the few online services to benefit from people staying at home. As a result, investor’s interest in the segment has also grown manifold with them pumping funds to tap into the opportunity.

One such online gaming company is Delhi-based WinZo, which recently raised USD 18 million in Series B funding round led by Singapore-based Makers Fund and New York’s Courtside Ventures.

However, one big hurdle for gaming companies in India is to generate revenue as data shows that most Indians opt for free online games. This is considered to be a major reason behind the slow growth of Indian gaming industry and for Indian developers to have been reduced to meagre back offices for international brands.

Apple’s upcoming macOS Big Sur operating system introduces HDR video support and allows Netflix users to watch content in 4K HDR for the first time. However, it turns out that only Macs with an Apple T2 Security chip are compatible with Ultra HD streaming.

Apple Terminal spotted a recently updated support document on Netflix’s Help Center that now includes hardware requirements for viewing 4K HDR content in Safari on macOS Big Sur.

According to the web page, viewing Ultra HD content can only be achieved on a “select 2018 or later Mac computer with an Apple T2 Security chip.” In addition to that, every monitor connected to the computer on which Ultra HD is streamed must be a 60Hz 4K capable display with a HDCP 2.2 connection.

It’s not clear why Macs need a T2 security chip to play back 4K HDR content, given that Windows machines obviously don’t, but

Those looking forward to streaming Netflix content in 4K HDR with the upcoming macOS Big Sur operating system will need a Mac with Apple’s T2 Security Chip, limiting the feature to recently released hardware.

Netflix recently updated a Help Center webpage with new guidance on viewing 4K HDR content in Safari on macOS Big Sur, noting both operating system and hardware requirements, reports Apple Terminal.

According to the support document only “[s]elect 2018 or later Mac computer[s] with an Apple T2 Security chip” are compatible with Ultra HD streaming. Further, all external monitors must feature 60Hz 4K capabilities and an HDCP 2.2 compliant connection.

Netflix fails to explain why Macs need a T2 chip to play back 4K HDR streams when comparable Windows machines do not. The chip does integrate a number of critical controllers like the system’s image signal processor and audio controller, which have been
