In the aftermath of the Black Lives Matter movement we have seen businesses across the U.K. being scrutinised for their lack of diversity. Whilst steps have been taken and commitments made one of the frequent rebuttals is a lack of industry data. Ground-breaking new research carried out by 10×10, a group of early-stage black founders and venture capitalists have launched “The Black Report” in partnership with Google. The report surveyed 60 black owned businesses in the UK asking questions about team composition, funding and problems they face. One of the key takeaways from the report was that on average these ventures tend to have more diversity across teams both in terms of race and gender.

This is a positive step in the right direction as we explore why ethnic minorities are not only under represented as employees within businesses but also the issues they face in starting

Boost Sport, a Seattle startup that helps basketball teams analyze their performance with video analysis technology, raised a $1.3 million seed round.

Founded in 2016, the company uses machine learning and artificial intelligence that lets coaches and trainers pull data insights from video footage without having to purchase in-venue camera systems and wearable devices. Boost says its software can help spot trends and surface opportunities about strategy and personnel.

TitletownTech, a partnership between the Green Bay Packers and Microsoft, led the round. Other investors include Portfolia, Stadia Ventures, Barbara Clarke at the ImpactSeat, and Scott Cannon.

“With the ever-changing landscape in sports, technology that can create efficient data channels for coaches and teams will be even more important,” Cordero Barkley, partner at TitletownTech, said in a statement. “Boost is positioned to become a significant asset for coaches, conferences and leagues.”

Five months after closing its $7 billion purchase of networking interconnect and chip developer Mellanox Technologies, Nvidia  (NVDA) – Get Report is teaming with VMware  (VMW) – Get Report to expand the capabilities of Mellanox’s silicon.

On Tuesday — the start of VMware’s annual VMworld conference — Nvidia and VMware announced a pair of partnerships.

One of the partnerships involves the Nvidia GPU Cloud (NGC), a set of software tools and pre-trained deep learning models meant to help developers quickly get AI projects relying on Nvidia GPUs up and running. The other involves Mellanox’s SmartNICs, networking cards that (with the help of Mellanox’s BlueField data processing units, or DPUs) can offload networking, security and storage processing from a server’s CPUs.

The second partnership, arguably the more important of the two, will allow many of the tasks handled by VMware’s core Cloud Foundation platform — it covers

(Bloomberg) — Microsoft said Office 365, Teams and some of its other online services are experiencing service interruptions.

A company spokesman confirmed the outages, which are also impacting Exchange Online and OneDrive. He didn’t have any information on the reason or the time it will take to get the services up and running again.

Problems with some of these services were reported earlier on Monday by Downdetector, which aggregates user reports of issues. That suggests the outages have lasted at least two hours.

Office 365 packages popular Microsoft software such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel into an online subscription. Teams is a collaboration tool that integrates with Office 365. The disruption follows a similar incident last week when some users of Google’s G Suite cloud productivity tools experienced errors.

The outages may be more disruptive at the moment because so many people are working and studying remotely. Microsoft and Google’s
